Relationships After Leaving m31.jpg

Many of your closest contacts will inevitably treat you differently once you've broken the bad news to them. Few people, however close with you they've been, will want to attach themselves to a "lame duck." Now that you're leaving the company, people may not run to you with their questions any longer because you no longer have all the answers or the authority you once had. Some colleagues may treat you as though you're a victim of the plague, and keep their distance for fear of catching the "pink slip disease." Others, who feel guilty for "surviving," may also avoid you. Your coworkers' withdrawal, whatever the reasons, won't help.
